Cut Back Yarrow in the Fall.

It’s a good idea to cut back Yarrow (Achillea spp. and cvs.) in the fall. However, it’s best to cut back the flower stalks while leaving the foliage alone. Yarrow will often develop new basal leaves in fall that later contribute to springtime growth. Cutting back the flower stalks helps light reach them and also keeps your garden looking neat during the chillier months of the year.
