Dawn Redwood Offers Year-Round Visual Interest.

Dawn Redwood (Metasequoia glyptostroboides) is not an evergreen, but it is a conifer tree. It offers feathery green foliage in spring and summer that darkens to a russet red in fall before dropping to expose the tree’s architectural branches all winter long. It’s great for adding privacy during the warmer months of the year and adds four-season visual interest to your yard. Be aware that some varieties can grow up to 100 feet tall. Dawn Redwood is hardy in Zones 4 – 8.
