Looking for an unusual take on the traditional evergreen tree? Weeping White Pine (Pinus strobus ‘Pendula’) resembles a waterfall of long, blue-green needles dotted with pendulous pinecones. These trees need support to grow vertically, otherwise they’ll grow like groundcover. (Many people drape them over an arbor to create a stunning curtain effect.) They do best in full sun and prefer moist, well-drained soil. They are hardy in Zones 4 – 9.
